Well one thing the BBC taught me was to expect the unexpected...have a belt and braces....and (unofficial training but we all do it)..have a plan C!
On Thursday I was doing audience for the Now Show (David Thomas was also doing aud and Jerry Peel was on show mix) Everything was as per normal...I worked till 0130 on the audience feeds (about 90 or a 100 to my house, editing out coughs, swears etc) ,
However after the death of HRH...it could only go out on Sounds which you can listen to here
As a SM we were all trained on what to do on the Death of a Royal. Its very satisfying to see the whole organisation get it right (its pretty complex() . The Beeb has always been the standard setter.
